How We Reach Out:
Planning, purchasing, preparing and serving food are a nurturing and nourishing activity for both server and recipient. When we offer food at Faith Presbyterian, we are extending an act of living kindness to others no matter what the occasion.
It may be a Harvest Dinner, Spring Brunch, Vacation Bible School Picnic Dinner, Advent Dinners (3), Ash Wednesday, or Maundy Thursday.
Regardless of the activity, we all share being part of a "Community of Faith."
Responsibilities:
- Plan the meal
- Purchase the food, needed beverages and paper supplies
- Help to prepare food and beverages
- Assist in serving and refilling food at the buffet line or as needed
- Help ensure proper storage of left over food and clean up kitchen after event
- All these responsibilities can be divided any way the team sees fit
Time Requirements:
Team members are on "call" and serve according to their availability and the timing of various activities. The time commitment varies according to the type of event.
Training:
On the job.
Qualifications and Special Skills:
Effective food service volunteers like to work with food, are flexible, and enjoy working with others.
Comments: This ministry offers an opportunity to meet new people and provides our church with a much needed and greatly appreciated service.
