Advent Mid-Week Service Committee
How We Reach Out:
The Advent Mid-Week Service Committee chooses families to participate in the Advent mid-week and Sunday service readings, provides material and trains the families.
Responsibilities:
- Choose families to read during services
- Coordinate readings with the pastors and the Minister of Music
- Provide a training for the families prior to services
- Provide backup readers in case a family cancels or forgets
- Update the Advent readings as needed
- Attend the Advent mid-week and Sunday services
Time Requirements:
Four hours in recruiting families for readings. Saturday morning training of families prior to services.
Training:
Provided by previous year committee members or in a notebook.
Qualifications and Special Skills:
Committee members should be able to nominate names for families to read and recruit the families. Organizational skills are needed to prepare families for the readings. Patience and problem solving will help in dealing with cancellations or no shows.
