The
Personnel and Planning Committee gives Session an
organized way to fulfill its responsibilities to all
the wonderful people employed by our church (pastors,
office personnel, music staff, Christian Education
Coordinator, child care providers and maintenance
employees).
The Committee also supports the planning efforts of
Session.
Among the Committee's specific
activities are:
- Carrying out personnel functions such as preparing job descriptions, conducting compensation and performance reviews, and approving personnel related expenditures
- Recommending personnel policies to Session
- Providing assistance and information to church staff on employment procedures, training opportunities, benefits and pension issues, etc.
- Helping establish and maintain child care policies and procedures (in conjunction with the Child Care Coordinator and Christian Education program staff)
- Developing the 18-month Planning Calendar for church activities
- Organizing Session's annual planning retreat (held in the Spring), and the mid-year retreat (held in October).
